McNeela
Paráic (Tiny) McNeela was born in Ballycroy, Co. Mayo, not far from Achill Island and from an early age
had a keen interest in music. He moved to Dublin in 1973 and while playing in sessions around the city, chanced to
meet Robbie Doyle, Andy Conlon and later Johnny Murray. Between them they formed "Anna Liffey Folk" and
went to Germany in 1978. For the best part of ten years he has played the length and breadth of the country in pubs,
clubs and subways with some of the finest irish and a highly rated performer of the german folk scene that he decided
to do a recording with some of his old pals from the early days.
Nowadays he is still attracted to Germany, concerts in Fiddler's Green are always
a special experience. McNeela coming means an evening of high quality acoustic irish folk. His programme includes
traditionals, covers of well-known folk musicians (e.g. Christy Moore, The Dubliners) and own compositions.
